I suppose the greatest mistake I made then was to install dial-up networking after my sound drivers. Anyways, my system was still unstable so I looked up a bit of info about BSOD's, removed my sound drivers (the BSODs I was getting indicated unstable sound drivers) and removed and re-installed dial up networking.
