I downloaded it and installed it using minstall - but when I rebooted, the information displayed while rebooting said that the two lines that were for the driver were ignored I installed the drivers over the top of my previous sound driver (I put in a new mb with the AC97 chip onboard) - was that a mistake?

[ALSA] opl3 - Fix compilation without sequencer support
As mentioned on the alsa site I enabled sound support with soundcore in rc.modules. Did it really say to do that? I thought it just said to enable the soundcore driver. Mine is a module, and it's loaded as a dependency of the sound card driver (snd-card-emu10k1). Specifically snd is what calls soundcore.
